Alden Lakeland is seeking a dedicated Nursing Home Administrator! Recently, we completed our annual survey, and our diverse population includes patients requiring post-acute care, Medicare/Medicaid services, respiratory support, dialysis, and long-term care.


Job Summary

The Administrator will have full responsibility and authority for the internal operations of the facility. The Administrator must ensure that the facility is run in accordance with all policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal Regulations. This role includes overall accountability for achieving successful clinical and fiscal outcomes.


Qualifications

  • Current Illinois Nursing Home Administrator’s License and/or Administrator’s temporary license.
  • Knowledgeable of long-term care practices and procedures, including applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language clearly and understandably.
  • Capability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Proficiency in dealing tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Possess leadership and supervisory skills with a willingness to collaborate harmoniously with all personnel.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Good general health and emotional stability are required.
  • May need to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies throughout the day.
  • Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B virus.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s programs and activities.
  • Ensure all procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
  • Directly supervise employees and provide in-service training to enhance job knowledge.
  • Identify problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Coordinate investigations and follow up on concerns received.
  • Review facility policy and procedure manuals, job descriptions, cleaning schedules, etc., and recommend revisions to Alden Management Services at least annually.
  • Recruit, interview, and select department managers while verifying their competency. Oversee training for all new hires.
  • Counsel and/or discipline personnel as necessary and handle employee grievances.
  • Complete performance evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Conduct multiple daily rounds throughout the facility.
  • Review Workmen’s Compensation Forms, assure timely processing of claims, and complete injury investigations.
  • Participate in continuing education programs and integrate relevant information into daily operations.
  • Assist in the collection of all residents’ accounts.
  • Hold weekly marketing meetings and develop the facility's marketing plan.
  • Attend Resident Council meetings when invited.
  • Delegate authority to a trained and competent individual to ensure administrative direction is maintained in the Administrator's absence.
  • Conduct evening, night, and weekend rounds.
  • Prepare and maintain the facility to ensure successful surveys.
  • Act as the facility’s Compliance Officer.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement the facility’s Quality Assurance and Safety programs with participation from all departments.
  • Chair administrative meetings, including Department Head meetings, Infection Control meetings, and Quality Assurance meetings, on a regular basis.
  • Meet with all residents and responsible parties upon admission or delegate this duty to the Director of Nursing in the Administrator's absence.
  • Provide qualified management coverage at the facility seven (7) days a week until 8:00 pm.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
