Location : Savannah, GA Job Type : Full-Time | Contract Schedule : 1st Shift Pay : $60.42 per hour About the Role As a Tool Design Engineer II , you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aviation. With minimal supervision, you'll design, tolerance, and annotate cutting-edge tooling in a 3D CAD environment, supporting the manufacture of industry-leading aircraft. Key Responsibilities Tool Design : Independently design, tolerance, and annotate tooling using Catia V5 or Solid Works in a 3D CAD environment. Collaboration : Work with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to optimize manufacturing procedures. Concept Presentation : Present design concepts to cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and safety representatives. Tool Reviews : Review and check designs to ensure they meet specifications, intent, and methods. Procedure Writing : Develop detailed procedures for tool usage. What We’re Looking For Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Experience : 18+ months of drafting/design experience in a tool shop or machine shop environment. Skills : Tool Design expertise using Catia V5 or Solid Works . Strong CAD/CATIA modeling skills and understanding of GD&T . Knowledge of materials, strengths, and heat treatment methods. Ability to conceptualize tools for assembly, composites, machines, handling equipment, and scaffolding. Bonus Points Experience in Tool Design is highly preferred.
