The Opportunity
Smurfit WestRock\u2019s Global Paper organization is looking for an energetic individual to join the team in a Technical Sales Service Representative opportunity. This individual will be a critical addition to the team and will partner closely with customers, providing technical assistance to Smurfit Westrock\u2019s Food Service Paperboard segment. This is a highly visible position and developing strategic partnerships with our customer base, as well as production facilities is a must. This individual will use exceptional communication skills to gather information from clients, and the market, and provide insight to the organization allowing Smurfit WestRock to deliver improved value to the customer.
- This role can require significant travel, including some potential international travel, which may include weekends.
How you will impact Smurfit WestRock
Utilize a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of food service industry.
Provide on-site and remote customer services including commercial startups, troubleshooting, training, and account maintenance visits
Provide accurate and timely service, audit, quality, and technical consultation.
Drive Smurfit WestRock\u2019s value added service model to our Commercial Print customers.
Assist sales force by making proactive calls and delivering value propositions.
Provide support and assistance for engineering/design improvements and changes.
Support innovation projects including trial coverage at the mill and/or customer\u2019s sites.
Assist in process improvement projects both internal and external.
Execute all expected reporting and communications as assigned.
What you need to succeed
Bachelor\u2019s degree in technical discipline desired
Ability to work independently or in groups on difficult and time bound projects
Field service and/or professional work experience of 3+ years
Knowledge of and adherence to safe work practices
Strong interpersonal skills
Expertise in sheetfed offset printing and familiarity of digital printing processes and equipment
Knowledge of die cutting and forming/sealing processes and equipment
Knowledge of paperboard quality characteristics
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong Spreadsheet and Word Processing skills are a must.
Basic statistical skills such as six sigma or lean manufacturing would be beneficial.
Extensive travel (>60%) with some nonstandard work weeks/ hours.
Experience in Project Technical management desired
