Description
We are seeking a Controller to join our clients team located in BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Michigan. This role is pivotal in their financial department, handling critical accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data. This role offers an exciting opportunity for those with a strong background in finance and accounting. This is an on site role in the hospitality/private club industry.

Responsibilities:
Oversee daily financial and accounting operations, ensuring business practices align with organizational regulations and financial policies.
Develop and implement financial strategies, monitor budget for divisions, conduct financial analysis and report outcomes.
Manage all audit and internal control processes.
Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability.
Oversee tax and insurance filings.
Process payroll in a timely manner and ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently.
Manage and monitor various financial system implementations and upgrades.
Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead cost allocation.
Liaise with the HR department on employee compensation, benefit plans and health insurance.
Develop and incorporate effective technological advancements to enhance financial data reporting and management.
Coordinate with other departments and communicate effectively to ensure smooth flow of financial operations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study. CPA certification is highly desirable.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar financial role with at least 3 years as Controller.
Demonstrable experience with financial planning, audits, insurance, cash management and human resources management.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficient with Club Select Systems software.
Exceptional analytic skills with the ability to create and assess financial statements and budgets.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information in a clear, concise manner.
Hospitality and/or private club experience highly preferred.
