Description We are in the search for a diligent Payroll Clerk to join our team. As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for handling various tasks such as data entry, time card cross-checking, and payroll backup. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity, where you will be instrumental in manual time card processing, union dues calculation, and understanding collective bargaining agreements. Responsibilities: • Handling data entry tasks specifically for time cards • Cross-checking of time cards to ensure accuracy • Serving as a backup for payroll-related tasks • Manual processing of time cards to ensure all hours are accurately recorded • Calculating union dues in line with the existing guidelines • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Collective Bargaining Agreement to ensure compliance • Streamlining processes for improved efficiency • Ensuring all financial reconciliations are performed accurately • Using Abila MIP software for payroll purposes • Handling garnishment calculations as per the requirement Requirements • Possession of at least 2 years of experience in a Payroll Clerk or similar role within the government sector. • Proficiency in manual processes related to payroll administration. • Demonstrated expertise in payroll processing and management. • Familiarity with Abila MIP or similar financial management software. • Strong skills in financial reconciliation and numeric data entry. • Experience in managing time cards effectively. • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements within the government sector. • Ability to perform garnishment calculations accurately. • Experience in handling union dues in accordance with government regulations.
