Job Summary

As an Activities Assistant at Caring Heart Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. You will be responsible for organizing and supporting a wide range of recreational activities to promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Your compassion, creativity, and dedication will contribute to fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere within our center.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement a diverse range of activities that cater to the interests and abilities of our residents.
• Coordinate and facilitate group programs, such as exercise classes, arts and crafts, movie nights, and social events.
• Individualize activity plans based on the preferences, needs, and capabilities of each resident.
• Assist residents in participating in activities, providing encouragement, and ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
• Maintain accurate records of resident involvement and progress in activities.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create a person-centered care environment that promotes resident engagement and satisfaction.
• Support residents in attending off-site outings, appointments, and community events.
• Assist in the setup, cleanup, and maintenance of the activity areas and equipment.
• Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in therapeutic recreation and senior care.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar role or a genuine interest in working with seniors.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creativity and the ability to develop engaging and meaningful activities.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to care.
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team.
• Familiarity with therapeutic recreation principles and techniques is a plus.
