Summary You will serve as a RANGE DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT OFFICER in the RANGE MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT of MCAS CHERRY POINT. Responsibilities You will serve as the supervisor for the Range Development and Support Division. You will plan, coordinate, and direct the operation of the Range Development and Support division. You will analyze existing conditions (capabilities and capacities), utilization, availability and functional adequacy of training assets in order to satisfy training requirements per established policies and procedures. You will review environmental impact assessments to ensure training activities and new construction comply with applicable federal and state land requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: incorporating new ordnance or range safety/support systems into the installation range suite of ranges. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement. Incumbent may be required to walk training spaces in an effort to determine optimum range location. Exposure to high temperature/high humidity days during the summer and cold weather during winter can be expected. Incumbent will be required to occupy below deck spaces when inspecting/supervising or discussing watercraft repair options. Work will involve supervising active duty Navy and civilian water craft mechanics and operators. Work is performed in both an office setting and at the Navy Boat Docks. This position is situational telework eligible as determined by the agency policy. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
