Position Summary

The Dietary Aide is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the dietary department at SKLD Leonard. You will assist in the preparation of meals and beverages, participate in the food tray line, serve meals to residents and staff, and ensure that the quality of nutritional services is upheld. Other duties include cleaning tables, washing dishes, operating the dishwashing machine, and following proper sanitation procedures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist in the preparation of meals and beverages

- Participate in the food tray line and prepare trays according to diet cards

- Assist with loading food carts and serving meals

- Bag and store food items as directed

- Clean and wrap silverware

- Bus and clean tables after mealtime throughout the facility

- Scrape, wash, and rack unclean dishes and utensils

- Assist in the operation of the dishwashing machine

- Sort and stack clean dishes

- Participate in table setup

- Discard waste/trash into proper containers

- Maintain a clean work area

- Report equipment malfunctions and hazardous conditions

- Communicate and interact effectively with residents, visitors, and staff

- Attend meetings and in-services as directed or scheduled

- Comply with infection control guidelines and standards

- Perform other tasks as required

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent

- ServSafe Certification preferred

- One year of experience as a Dietary Aide preferred

- Able to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions

- Basic knowledge of attractive food service, sanitation, and safety
