Position: Dietary/Food Service Director

Kempsville Health & Rehab Center is seeking a talented and experienced Dietary/Food Service Director to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our dietary and food service operations. You will ensure that our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals that meet their dietary requirements while maintaining a high standard of food quality and safety.

Responsibilities

As the Dietary/Food Service Director, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Planning and coordinating the preparation and service of meals for residents, ensuring they meet dietary requirements and preferences
• Developing menus that offer a variety of healthy and appealing options
• Managing the budget for the dietary department
• Training and supervising dietary staff, ensuring they adhere to proper food handling and safety protocols
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals to meet the nutritional needs of residents with specific medical conditions or dietary restrictions
• Monitoring and maintaining inventory of food and supplies
• Adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations related to food service and safety
• Ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Dietary/Food Service Director or in a similar leadership role
• Strong knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic diets
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with residents, family members, and staff
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work well in a team and independently
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to food service and safety
• Familiarity with purchasing and inventory management
• Certification in Food Safety and Sanitation
