Lead MDS Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Lead MDS Coordinator to join our growing healthcare team and provide a high level of health care service with a touch of love and care. Job Summary
As the Lead MDS Coordinator, you will be responsible for the effective implementation of the overall RAI (Resident Assessment Instrument) process. This includes timely and accurate completion and transmission of MDS's (Minimum Data Sets). You will work under the direction of the RN MDS Nurse Coordinator to coordinate patient care services and ensure compliance with governmental regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a resource for all inquiries/admissions/re-admissions for possible Medicare coverage.
- Possess and maintain good clinical knowledge of all residents.
- Coordinate patient care services to assure the smooth integration of the company's interdisciplinary approach to quality patient care.
- Maintain a working knowledge of and ensure compliance with all governmental regulations, with specific emphasis on Medicare clinical and billing guidelines and RAI.
- Work with physicians, nursing, and facility staff to ensure appropriate and cost-efficient resident care.
- Monitor medical records to assure the documentation reflects the services provided and complies with policies and regulations.
- Monitor residents' needs and services and the overall PDPM (Patient-Driven Payment Model) process to maximize utilization of Medicare and determine skilled coverage.
Requirements
- Must hold a current and valid RN license in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in nursing.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner and to be able to carefully follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform all functions of the job classification without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
