Job Description: Personal Care Attendant / PCA

As a PCA, you will play a vital role in assisting our residents with their daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. Your warm personality, patience, and empathy will create a positive environment, fostering a sense of community and trust among residents and their families.

Responsibilities:

- Assist residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help with mobility and transferring to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Support residents in using assistive devices, such as walkers or canes, as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment by regularly tidying resident rooms and common areas.
- Monitor and record vital signs, report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful connections and relationships.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.
- Promptly answer call lights and respond to resident needs, promoting a high level of comfort and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and therapists, to ensure a comprehensive and holistic approach to care.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Compassionate and patient nature, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of varying physical and cognitive abilities.
- Understanding of personal care techniques, including proper lifting and transferring methods.
- Basic knowledge of hygiene practices and infection control procedures.
- Reliable and dependable, with a strong work ethic and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
