Dining Services Assistant

Cornwall Manor, a senior living community in Cornwall, PA, is currently seeking a Dining Services Assistant to join our team. As a Dining Services Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our residents have a positive dining experience by providing exceptional service and assistance. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

• Place food onto individual plates according to directions.
• Serve plated food to customers in dining area.
• Clear tables following each meal.
• Set tables prior to each meal.
• Serve and replenish beverages to customers.
• Prepare breakfast, dinner, and supper items as listed.
• Set up and arrange salad bars with daily items.
• Review menu selections with customers; ask and/or answer questions regarding selections as appropriate; convey selections to appropriate dining services staff as required.
• Be alert and attentive to customers' needs while they are waiting for and during the course of the meal; provide for ways to meet those needs as appropriate and requested.
• Wash and stack dirty and/or clean dishes as assigned.
• Clean floors, preparation and serving areas, and other kitchen equipment as assigned or needed.
• Perform laundering duties for kitchen linens, aprons, etc. as scheduled.
• Wash and clean pots, pans, and other food preparation utensils as directed or needed; put items away following cleaning process.
• Greet, seat, and follow up on residents in dining room when trained and as assigned.
• Verify daily selections; submit order slips to kitchen when trained and as assigned.
• Arrange seating as needed to allow for smooth flow of service and turnover in the dining room as trained and assigned.
• Direct other dining services associates serving as wait staff, to residents who need attention and oversee meal service in the dining room when trained and as assigned.
• Maintain resident attendance and billing records for meals in the dining room when trained and as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

To perform the essential job functions, the Dining Services Assistant must have the ability for:

• Standing up to 8 hours per day and up to 8 consecutive hours; walking up to 8 hours per day.
• Using fingers often; using hands sometimes; sometimes performing firm grasping and twisting/turning motions with hands or fingers.
• Lifting up to 25 pounds often; sometimes up to 50 pounds.
• Carrying an object(s) up to 25 pounds often; sometimes up to 50 pounds.
• Pushing an object(s) up to 25 pounds often; sometimes up to or in excess of 100 pounds (food carts for example).
• Pulling an object(s) up to 25 pounds often; sometimes up to or in excess of 100 pounds.
• Stooping/bending, squatting, or reaching above shoulder level often; crouching sometimes.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

• 1 year of experience in food service (experience not necessary, but preferred)
