Position reports to Life Experience Manager

Status: Non-Exempt; Full time

Wage Compensation: $17-$19/hour

Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 within 45 days of hire date.

The Memory Care Specialist is responsible for supporting the cognitive care for residents across the continuum of care. They will coordinate all aspects of planning and facilitating memory care activities and events for residents at Westminster Village who reside in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and the Health Center. The Memory Care Specialist will be actively involved with Residents and focus on Resident satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• BA or BS degree from an accredited school preferred.
• Has experience in working alone and in developing and creating events/programs.
• Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation.
• Has knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
• Demonstrates supervisory capabilities.
• Knowledge of the various appropriate recreational activities used for therapeutic treatment of mentally or physically handicapped residents.
• Dedication to the senior population and their unique needs and concerns.
• Capable of sensitive and effective communication both verbally and in writing to professionals, residents and families, entertainers, educators, and staff members.
• Has social perceptiveness - being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
• Ability to manage multiple objectives and tasks.
• Has demonstrated creativity relative to event planning and communication.
• Has flexibility with work schedule.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Must be able to move, stand, bend, and lift continually throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull or transfer a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in the English Language without assistance.
• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
• Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
