Position Summary
This position is responsible for supervising the dirt & base crew and site
operations to ensure the highest quality product and service. Supervises and
coordinates activities of workers engaged in fine grading and finishing
surfaces to be paved upon. This includes safety, quality, scheduling,
logistics, equipment selection, personnel management and product placement.
Responsibilities
Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and
procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
Provides overall on-site leadership on a construction project site
Participates and promotes the safety culture
Provides direction, training and assistance to crew members
Communicates with the customer to discuss any issues and let them know whatto
except and inform the customer prior to performing and work beyond our
contractual agreement
Communicates daily with Project Manager, Superintendent and Logistics to
discuss schedule, production and trucking needs
Completes paperwork including daily crew time sheets, daily site evaluation
sheets, weekly toolbox safety meeting sheets and other required paperwork
Communicates and works effectively with state and local agencies;
inspectors; contractors; subcontractors, company management and employees
Responsible for cleanliness and quality on the jobsite
Completes projects in a safe, accurate and timely manner
Operates other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as
required
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills
Perform well in a "TEAM" environment
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
Willing to work hours that are associated to the construction industry,
including overtime and weekends as needed
Communicate effectively, both written and verbally
Basic mathematical skills
Ability to detect and solve problems
Ability to diagnose and communicate equipment issues.
Valid driver license is required
Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
Minimum Education and Experience
3-5 years of industry experience required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
We are excited to share the base hourly range for this position is $30 -
$38. The offered compensation will be determined based on factors such as
geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies,
skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we
place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation
for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted
range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not
solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of
the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth
opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not
