As a Patient Access Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to ensure a smooth and efficient registration process for patients. You will be the first point of contact, greeting patients with a warm and friendly demeanor, making them feel welcome and comfortable. With your exceptional interpersonal skills, you will establish a rapport with patients and their families, guiding them through the registration and check-in process, and answering any questions or concerns they may have.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner, creating a positive first impression
- Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete
- Schedule appointments and register patients for admissions, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, explaining financial responsibilities to patients
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documents, as required
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, following HIPAA guidelines
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care
- Provide excellent customer service, address and resolve patient inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
- Stay updated on current healthcare regulations and guidelines, implementing changes as necessary

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in healthcare administration or customer service is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in using healthcare software and electronic medical record systems
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Empathetic and caring nature, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a strong work ethic
