A Brokerage CSR will be expected to ensure timely and accurate operations while providing exceptional customer service within the Brokerage Department.
Transfer customs declaration information from documents, or other sources into the customs entry system to allow for the build of a valid customs declaration
Track and Trace international shipments
Ensure smooth, accurate and timely submission of US Customs entries to obtain timely clearance of cargo from US Customs and Participating Government Agencies
Timely dispatch of freight to truckers and coordinate delivery
Ensure accurate and timely client and service provider billing
Identify and manage exceptions while identifying opportunities for continual improvement in processes
Understand all the elements of the import customs Desk Level Operating Procedure and correctly interpret this information to fulfill our customer´s instructions and expectations.
Ensure compliance at all times by following government regulations and company policies
Minimum of 1 year of Customs Brokerage Experience with good knowledge of brokerage process and interactions with government agencies preferred
Experience with working with truckers, terminals, forwarders and carriers preferred
Driven and motivated to continue a career in international logistics
Must be able to work out of the El Paso office
High School Degree or equivalent required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must not require future sponsorship for employment visa
Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department's needs
Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, preferred
Good computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint)
Familiarity with 10-key usage
Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized
Demonstrated ability to be proactive in thought and action
Strong organizational skills
Analytical with a strong attention to detail
Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, and effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Willing to pitch in and help on last-minute projects or assist team members
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Has a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliability
Comfortable working in a professional business environment
Proven ability and desire to learn new software and technologies
Successful candidates must pass a background check
Desired Qualifications:
Undergraduate Degree Preferred
Customs Brokerage License or actively pursuing
Customs Brokerage Experience with good knowledge of brokerage process and interactions with government agencies
