The State Of Vermont Department Of Corrections is looking for a
Community Correctional Officer to work out of the Probation & Parole
Office in Barre. CCS\'s Provide supervision, rehabilitation, and support
services to offenders under the supervision of the Probation and Parole
Division of the Vermont Department of Corrections. Community Corrections
Officers utilize both risk control and risk management services as part
of a supervision team of high-risk offenders, Work is performed in
accordance with correctional policies, directives, and procedures under
the supervision of an administrative superior. All employees of the
Agency of Human Services perform their respective functions adhering to
four key practices: customer service, holistic service, strengths-based
relationships and results orientation.

Environmental Factors
Duties are performed in the homes, places of employment, and other
locations frequented by assigned inmates as well as in a standard office
setting. Duties include working closely with local police departments in
arrest situations or in the performance of field supervision check. High
stress situations are predictable, even frequent. The potential of
physical assault or injury is present. A valid motor vehicle operator\'s
license is required. Overtime and emergency duty are predictable. Shift
assignments may change in accordance with the needs of the office,
including any of three shifts and weekend assignments as well
potentially working within a correctional facility.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in criminal justice, social service or a related
human services field
OR
Associate\'s degree AND one (1) year or more of experience in
corrections, human services, military service, law enforcement or other
related field.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years or more of
experience in corrections, human services, military service, law
enforcement or other related field.
Note:
A valid motor vehicle operator\'s license is required.
