Contract overview

This is a placement contract between you and the employer. If the employer hires a candidate you submit, you'll be paid the contract amount.

The payments begin when the candidate starts and are disbursed over time. The contract terms are:

Market price: $6,400 USDEst.

Payment schedule: Paid monthly over 6 months

Responsibilities

Provide Peer Advising to students who are majoring in the College of Social & Behavioral Science (CSBS) and have quick questions through answering phones and helping students who walk-into the CSBS Student Success Center;
Will also assist Academic Advisor with 1st year Milestone Advising Program (MAP) and New Student Orientations;
Greets those who come into the Center;
Helps with general questions and scheduling appointments;
Assists Office Manager with general office tasks;
Other office duties as assigned.


Work Environment and Level of Frequency typically required

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.

Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required

Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.
Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.
Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. One year full-time customer service experience or equivalency, demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.

Preferences

Desire to learn more about and be involved in Academic Advising in higher education.
Customer service experience preferred.
Must be professional as this position will represent not only the U of U, but also advising in the College of Social & Behavioral Science.
