As President, you will lead and have oversight of UPMC Workpartners suite of service, including absence management, EAP, worker's compensation, health promotion, health management, health coaching, safety, sales & business development, and workplace/employee clinics. The President will be responsible for overall financial performance and data management of the organization, marketing its programs, and communicating with the Health Plan as part of the Insurance Services Division. This key position will lead the business integration of the division's various products while establishing effective business plans for each. The President is responsible for development of goals and successful outcomes for current programs/products and development of new products and markets, while assuring coordination between the staff and necessary supporting services of the Health Plan.
Responsibilities:
Complete evaluations of commercial worker's compensation products.
Meet aggressive budgets, targets for all service lines.
Establish effective business plans and budgets for various service lines and companies.
Responsible for keeping up to date on local, regional and national affairs, policies, and legislation affecting business operation/products.
Advise the President/CEO on matters pertaining to current and future performance as well as external influences of public perception, and political issues.
Continually evaluate operations of all business lines and service along with development of new services.
Oversee product development and in collaboration with division business development strategies.
Provide account management and maintain relationship with all major accounts.
Oversee client relationship management for all products and services providing personal support for account management on major accounts when needed.
Create an integrated product with market materials.
Provide leadership and direction to the Workpartners suite of services.
Provide thoughtful leadership regarding current customer trends, and objectives.
Recruit, retain and develop a competent staff.
Develop and manage relationships across all departments.
Consistently strive to ensure product regulatory compliance with all products.
Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ensure integration and growth by focusing on alignment, product development, implementation and retention of assigned products and services.
IT development and support of product lines Work collaboratively with Clinical, Network and Quality Departments to enhance development and application of training, performance improvement and education programs for providers in the plan's networks.
Establish strategic direction. Interact with UPMC, Health Plan, and third-party administrators as a leader consulting and providing services by UPMC Workpartners.
Partner on sales strategy integration across all the lines of products/services.
Responsible for the critical business strategies and go-to market plans across market and product segments.
Responsible for and oversee financial and data analysis/management.
Oversee the business-critical measurement, implement tracking and reporting processes and provide analyses.
Bachelor's Degree from a reputable, accredited institution is required. MBA or equivalent degree is preferred.
10+ years of success in leadership positions with progressive management and sales experience in health or general insurance market required.
Must have a strong understanding of new product development.
5+ years of Director-level experience managing a large and dispersed team.
Experience in an industry such as insurance relating to interpreting and executing on contracts is desired.
Lean Six Sigma certification or experience leading or playing a significant role in Lean or other process improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
Highly motivated and results-driven professional.
Must have a strong understanding of new product development and target markets.
Ability to develop, structure and implement business plans and processes with a strategic mindset.
Ability to collaborate effectively across the organization and establish relationships and efficient processes.
Must have profound understanding of latest concepts, practices, procedures, and trends in a consumer-driven environment.
Must possess a working knowledge of all business functions, including media relations and community relations.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Strong interpersonal and team skills.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CSP, ARM, CPCU preferred.
