Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Care Aide to join our team at Franciscan Village. In this role, you will provide support and assistance to our residents in our Assisted Living department. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being and comfort of our residents while promoting independence and maintaining their dignity.

Responsibilities

As a Resident Care Aide, your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Assisting residents with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Providing assistance with medication management as per established protocols.
• Assisting in transferring and/or repositioning residents using proper body mechanics.
• Observing and reporting any changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the nursing staff.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
• Assisting with meal preparation and encouraging residents to maintain a balanced diet.
• Engaging residents in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Building trusting relationships with residents and their families.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience working in a residential care setting or with seniors preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, families, and staff.
• Demonstrated knowledge of personal care and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions carefully.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of residents and the community.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
