Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activity Leader to join our team at The Knolls of Oxford. The Activity Leader will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a wide range of engaging activities and programs for our residents. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of our residents and contribute to creating a vibrant and fulfilling community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a monthly activity calendar that incorporates a variety of physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual activities.
- Coordinate and facilitate group activities, such as exercise classes, crafts, games, outings, and cultural events.
- Engage residents in one-on-one activities tailored to their individual interests and abilities.
- Encourage and motivate residents to participate in activities to enhance their physical and mental well-being.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and organized approach to activity planning and implementation.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities.
- Assist with transporting residents to and from activities as needed.
- Assist with setting up and cleaning activity spaces before and after each session.
- Continuously evaluate and modify activities to meet the changing needs and interests of residents.
- Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and new ideas in senior living activities.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a similar role or related field preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Creativity and a passion for designing and implementing engaging activities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
- Knowledge of senior living and understanding of the physical and emotional needs of older adults.
