Job Description An employer is looking for a Mainframe DB2 for z/OS DBA for a remote, direct-hire opportunity. The client is a leading insurance holding company and the DB2 DBA will be responsible for providing comprehensive production support, project assistance, and handling service requests, incidents, and problem management for mainframe Systems Software and hardware. This role involves utilizing a wide range of technologies, systems, and tools essential for supporting the business while adhering to change management protocols and delivering exceptional customer service. This position will primarily concentrate on DB2 for z/OS DBA tasks. This includes, but is not limited to:  Deliver expert support for SQL development and optimization on DB2 V12.1 -- V13.1.  Manage and support DB2 V12.1 -- V13.1 across test, QA, and production environments.  Facilitate seamless CICS and IMS attachment to DB2 V12.1 -- V13.1.  Oversee the administration and use of the DB2 V12.1 -- V13.1 Administration Tool and Object Comparison Tool.  Customize and support File-Aid for DB2 to enhance database management.  Ensure a well-managed change environment for DB2 V12.1 -- V13.1 using Changeman ZMF.  Responsible for the architecture, life-cycle management, configuration, maintenance, and support of assigned mainframe System Software and Hardware.  Provides excellent customer service by monitoring and responding to Technical Services related incidents, service requests, and project tasks.  Interacts with cross-discipline support teams to resolve issues, develop, and deliver solutions.  Provides training to IT and business units on the use of mainframe System Software.  Monitors system logs for anomalies and resolves complex issues.  Acts as a subject matter expert and support for one or more primary technologies or processes, including other IBM and ISV mainframe System Software products.  Works closely with Audit and Security teams to address outstanding items and prioritize remediation tasks, notifying IT Security of possible exposures.  Completes required PMO documentation, time entry, status reports, and contributes to the annual budget process.
