Contract overview

This is a placement contract between you and the employer. If the employer hires a candidate you submit, you'll be paid the contract amount.

The payments begin when the candidate starts and are disbursed over time. The contract terms are:

Market price: $5,300 USDEst.

Immediate Opening - Tour Guide /Education /Animal Care

Croc Encounters, a small and growing facility in Tampa, Florida, has an immediate opening for an animal keeper and tour guide to join our team. We are looking for a long term committed individual who is seeking a career with reptiles/animals. We invite you to apply.

Overview:

Primary responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

  • to provide exciting and educational tours onsite at the facility and offsite at events
  • to perform daily reptile keeper activities such as preparing food, feeding animals, cleaning enclosures, etc.
  • to maintain the grounds (You will be working in close proximity with alligators, crocodiles, birds, snakes)
  • to co-operate with other employees to complete tasks or to work alone
  • to follow all directives
  • to cross train and work in other areas

Required:

  • Clean criminal background
  • Strong interest and passion for reptiles and other animals
  • Ability to communicate issues and variations in plans via phone or text
  • Ability to provide entertaining, informative, safe, polite tours/programs
  • Reliable, strong work ethics- able to work alone or direct other helpers
  • Ability to self manage your time and work load without being micromanaged
  • Ability to follow a list of tasks and complete it daily and to work independently observing what needs to be done
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments (rain, heat, mosquitos, poison ivy, etc)
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects like concrete bags, large animals, feed bags etc.
  • Ability to understand the importance of the condition of the animals, enclosures, and grounds
  • Ability and willingness to cross train and work in other areas such as maintenance
  • Reliable transportation SUV, truck or van is preferred
  • Clean, neat, acceptable appearance (families and schools are frequent guests)
  • Desire to assist in growing our facility and your career

Optional skills to make us aware of:

  • Construction experience,
  • Mechanical skills (fixing pumps, motors, etc)
  • General knowledge of reptiles, Animal experience

Job Types:

Pay: $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
