System One is currently seeking a Power Plant Process Engineer on a 3 year contract position located in Wilsonville, AL.
Process Engineer Responsibilities:
Provides expert consulting services to power generation facilities.
Instrumental in optimizing plant processes, ensuring safety and compliance, and leading complex projects to enhance the efficiency and environmental sustainability of power plants.
Lead and provide specialized consulting services to power generation facilities, offering advanced guidance on process optimization, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and environmental sustainability.
Lead and collaborate with clients to conduct in-depth assessments and optimize power plant processes.
Focus on improving efficiency, performance, and environmental sustainability.
Innovate solutions and recommend improvements.
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of critical power generation equipment, including boilers, turbines, pumps, generators, and balance of plant systems.
Offer expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for complex technical issues, equipment breakdowns, and operational problems.
Ensure power plant processes are fully compliant with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry codes.
Analyze plant data, performance metrics, and trends to assess process efficiency and reliability.
Advise on strategies to minimize environmental impact, such as emissions reduction, waste management, and sustainability efforts.
Identify and implement opportunities for improving overall power plant efficiency, heat rate optimization, fuel consumption reduction, and heat recovery.
Lead and consult on process improvement projects, from project planning to execution. Provide project management leadership, budget recommendations, and resource allocation strategies.
Stay updated on evolving regulations and ensure that the plant follows all necessary permits and requirements, including air quality and emissions standards.
Prepare advanced technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and project progress to clients and stakeholders.
Process Engineer Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field is typically required.
A master's degree or relevant certifications can be advantageous.
2 to 5 years (Level 1), 5-10 years (Level 2),10 to 15 years (Level 3) of extensive experience in power plant operation and process engineering, with a deep focus on thermal and mechanical systems.
In-depth knowledge of power plant processes, including steam and gas turbine systems, boilers, generators, and balance of plant equipment.
Strong familiarity with environmental regulations, safety standards, and industry codes applicable to power generation facilities.
Experience in environmental permitting is valuable.
Advanced proficiency in data analysis and the use of software tools for performance monitoring and process optimization.
A strong commitment to safety, with comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols and practices in an industrial setting.
Exceptional problem-solving skills for addressing complex technical issues, innovating solutions, and providing expert guidance.
Demonstrated leadership in providing consulting services for complex process improvement projects, including project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effectively conveying complex technical information, findings, and project updates to various stakeholders.
Duration: 3 years
Location: Wilsonville, AL
Pay Rate: Level 1- $41/hr, Level 2- $50/hr, Level 3- $60/hr
