Lead Gas Technician

Waste Connections is looking for a Lead Gas Technician to join our team at our Heart of Florida Landfill located in Lake Panasoffkee, FL. Pay Range: $2-$30+/hr. DOE Responsibilities include: Perform routine system inspections and repairs on the landfill. Work with Lead Landfill Gas Technician to ensure compliance. Maintain relationships with landfill employees as well as consultants and vendors. Using gas analyzer to monitor gas wells and probes. Performing maintenance on pneumatic pumps, including the removal of pumps in wells, inspections, and repairs. Monitoring the amount of liquid in gas wells. HDPE pipe fusion. Position Requirements: 3+ years of experience as a gas tech Ability to follow established procedures with minimal amount of direct supervision. Ability to be coachable and learn how to navigate the landfill in a safe manner. Work outdoors for most of the day. Maintain a good attitude and a hard work ethic. Be willing to perform a variety of tasks on any given day. Provide on-call response to gas collection system. Experience operating hand and power tools. Ability to handle objects up to 50 lbs. Ability to collect data, interpret data and draw valid conclusions. Ideal candidates will possess: Experience with leachate collection systems.
