Culture Coordinator

CITY OF COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, UT

PAY RANGE: $22.78 - $33.74 per hour, DOQ

Cottonwood Heights is accepting applications for an experienced and responsible professional to become a Culture Coordinator in our Records, Culture and Human Resources Department.

The Cottonwood Heights' Culture Coordinator assists the Culture Manager with the Arts Council's annual musical. Responsibilities in collaboration with the Arts Council will include:

  • Creating a budget
  • Obtaining the rights to the play
  • Hiring a production team
  • Scheduling rehearsals and performance venues
  • Setting up the audition and rehearsal process
  • Overseeing the production agreements
  • Developing and maintaining the production schedule
  • Arranging production meetings

Assists with various city programs, including Butlerville Days and other events, as needed. This will involve helping with the planning, promotion, and marketing of the events through social media and flyers. The position also assists in recruiting and working closely with volunteers for the events. In addition, you will help with tracking budgets and preparing reports for evaluating the events.

Assists the Culture Manager with city facility room rentals, both internal and external. Meets with the renter to ensure all equipment is working properly and rental needs will be met.

Assists in budget management for Arts Council events, overseeing and tracking expenditures across multiple spreadsheets and reports. Ensures the Arts Council follows all city policies and ordinances.

Attends monthly meetings of the Arts Council and Historic Committee and any subcommittees, as needed.

The Culture Coordinator is a full-time, benefitted position in the Records, Culture and Human Resources Department. Candidates with play production and writing experience, as well as knowledge in social media and Canva, will be given preference.

The position requires flexibility with their schedule, which would include a mix of weekday business hours, nights, and weekends for volunteer meetings, play productions (both rehearsals and performances), open houses, and other arts-related events and city activities. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
