Shipping Lead

Shipping Lead, Perry, GA Interfor is seeking energetic and enthusiastic team players to join our team as a Shipping Lead in Perry, GA . Starting rate for this position is based on skill level and experience. What You’ll Do Maintaining/Leading the day to day tasks needed to meet the following KPI’s: Training/Certifying all new Forklift Operators in the Shipping Department. Help with Shipping Office duties: Work with fellow Employee’s to ensure compliance in safety, environment, company policies and OSHA safety regulations. Supervision of Shipping Employee’s as required. Shed audits. Any other job duties as assigned. Able to work flexible hours, including weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and nights. Can work overtime on short notice. What You’ll Offer Minimum high school diploma or equivalent and preferably post-secondary degree in a related field Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in an industrial setting, with exposure to shipping and forklift operations Experience in the lumber industry would be considered an asset Proficiency with MS Office, including Windows, Outlook and Excel required Exposure to a database Inventory System an asset Understanding of lumber manufacturing principles and processes considered a strong asset Ability to write well (spelling, grammar, punctuation) Ability to speak Spanish is a plus Demonstrated safe work behavior Strong organizational and leadership skills with a sense of urgency Ability to operate a forklift and other mobile equipment to move rail cars. Ability to climb on top of rail cars and trucks to spread tarps and car wraps. Ability to multi-task, deal with numerous interruptions and meet multiple demands Ability to communicate clear and concise information in an accurate and informative manner Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment Who We Are Interfor is a growth-oriented forest products company, operating in all major forest products markets across North America.
