The Role of a Corporate Banking Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented banking analyst to join our Corporate Banking team at Zions Bank Head Office in downtown Salt Lake City. This role entails managing some of the largest and most visible relationships in the bank and the State of Utah. Attention to detail, integrity, quick thinking, professionalism, effective communication, and a willingness to learn are crucial qualities for success in this role.
As a key member of our team, you will receive hands-on and ongoing training and will be entrusted with numerous responsibilities that will help you become a professional banker with significant growth potential within our organization. The skills acquired in this role offer multiple career paths within our bank due to the visibility and exposure to various areas and levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Responsible for analyzing, interpreting, investigating, gathering and presenting of financial data, including tax information and credit documentation to determine a client's creditworthiness for corporate banking customers.
• Reviews and initiates the creation of loan documents for legal and structural considerations, to ensure they are in compliance with policies and regulations.
• Makes calls on clients to better underwrite credits. Consults with relationship managers and makes recommendations for credits and loan presentations.
• Assists with basic and mid-sized loans; provides customer service on behalf of loan officers/relationship managers and team leaders.
• Serves as backup relationship manager as required.
• Assists with collection efforts and resolution of customer problems.
• May be responsible for disbursement of funds. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree and some experience in loan processes, credit, credit analysis, documentation, or other directly related experience. Basic knowledge of credit, credit analysis, and experience working with various types of loans is necessary.

Ability to make recommendations to officers, good communication skills, customer service, and organizational skills are essential. Knowledge of computer software, including spreadsheets, word processing, and various types of credit analysis software is required.
