Billing Coordinator
Elm Terrace Gardens is currently seeking a Billing Coordinator to join our team in Lansdale, PA. This is a full-time position reporting to the Financial Controller in the Administration - Finance department.
Job Description:
The purpose of the Billing Coordinator is to maintain the billing and accounts receivable systems on a timely basis and to inform the Controller of any matter that the Billing Coordinator cannot resolve. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties under the guidance of the Controller and in accordance with federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.

Resident Rights Functions - Duties
- Maintains resident confidentiality at all times.
- Treats residents with kindness, dignity, patience, and respect.
- Knows and complies with the rules of the residents' rights.
- Adheres to residents' personal property rights at all times.
- Follow established facility policies and procedures for reporting and investigating all resident incidents and allegations of abuse.
Staff Functions - Duties
- Attends and participates in orientation, staff meetings, training, in-service sessions, and other activities as directed by the President.
- Follows established safety rules and regulations at all times, including tire safety procedures and disaster control; promptly reports accidents, incidents, and unsafe and hazardous equipment or conditions.
- Knows and complies with basic facility infection control policies and procedures, including blood-borne pathogen standard and infectious waste disposal.
Experience and Skills:
Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen (18 ) years of age, completed high school or obtained the equivalent of a high school education and have at least two years’ experience, preferably in a health-care facility, in Accounts Receivable, Billing, Medicare/Medical Assistance Billing, Insurance Billing.
- Must be sufficiently verbal to communicate effectively with telephone callers, visitors, residents, and other staff members.
- Must possess knowledge of community resources and needs; ability to handle confidential information; possess judgment capabilities.
- Must have the ability to work well with people including staff, residents, families, and community; communicate the services of the facility to the community; be personable and friendly and work independently.
- Must possess the ability to speak to and be understood by residents and staff, and demonstrate the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions; and
- Must possess an agreeable and helpful attitude toward senior adults.
Responsibilities Include:
- Monitor and dun past due accounts.
- Reconcile Pharmacy and Medical Supply bills for Skilled Nursing Facility and Personal Care.
- Collect, date, and prepare billing for Independent Living, Personal Care, and Skilled Nursing Facility residents and outside parties.
- Prepare and electronically transmit billing and receive ERA payments for Medicare and Medical Assistance billing.
- Answer questions from residents and their families regarding billing issues.
- Prepare and submit all Managed Care billing.
- Maintain resident database.
- Assign medical records numbers.
- Maintains up to date Medical Assistance database.
- Recommend to the Financial Controller the equipment and supply needs.
- Present a warm and friendly image in a courteous and friendly manner at all times.
- Generally try to be helpful to all.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Respond to emergency alarms as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Present positive endorsement of Elm Terrace Gardens, its mission, programs, policies, procedures, and administration to Elm Terrace Gardens residents, staff, visitors, and other constituencies at all times.
- Report to work as scheduled.
- Assist with resident transport to and from activities.
Benefits:
Position is subject to a ninety-day orientation period from date of employment. The position is subject to applicable provisions of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and related regulations. Incumbents become eligible for benefits and leave accruals according to the designated employment category after successful completion of the orientation period.
