Covenant Woods - Recreation Coordinator

Covenant Woods is seeking a full-time Recreation Coordinator to join our Assisted Living Neighborhood. As an essential part of our community, the Recreation Coordinator plays a vital role in enriching the daily lives of our residents. We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working with older adults, is a team player, and possesses strong creative problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate must be adaptable to varying situations, resourceful, motivated, and able to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities

• Create, plan, and implement high-quality and meaningful programming for our active older adult population
• Develop and organize 1:1 and group in-house programming, community outings, and special holiday and campus events
• Ensure a balance of programs that meet the physical, social, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of the residents, in compliance with community policies and state regulations
• Solicit program volunteers and oversee their activities in Assisted Living, acting as a liaison with the facilities volunteer organization
• Work with other recreation team members to maintain adequate equipment and supplies for the recreation department within the allotted budget
• Responsible for purchasing program supplies, setting up and breaking down programs
• Physically able to set up, engage in programming with the residents, and manage required office work
• Seek and oversee community volunteers who work in Assisted Living

Skills and Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience working with older adults in a health care setting
• Experience working with individuals with memory impairments (preferred)
• Background in recreation or experience in program planning and facilitation
• Strong time management skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Word, Publisher, and Outlook
• College degree (preferred)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (including some evenings and possible weekends)
