Creative Communications has an outstanding opportunity for a Digital Press Operator (NE H Teamsters 117 Print)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for preparing, proofing and printing jobs on a digital color press
Maintains high standards of quality by evaluating and monitoring output according to specifications and/or UW & UW Medicine brand standards
Performs troubleshooting, maintenance, color calibration, cleaning, and replenishing of consumables
Performs advanced duties in the electronic preparation of files for digital printing, including file setup, pre-flight, variable data setup, & file manipulation
Responds to customer inquiries regarding on-line ordering system, creates & updates products, and manages the queue for the digital color press from our on-line ordering system.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma and minimum of 3 years work experience at a digital print operation
Complete understanding of the printing process and the specific role of digital files, including thorough knowledge of desktop publishing, page layout applications, trapping and imposition, preflight and file preparation
Demonstrable mechanical aptitude; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; problem solving skills; strong communication, organization, and decision making skills.
Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience on Xerox Iridesse or similar digital press
Five or more years work experience at a digital printing operation
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator Acrobat Pro) and Microsoft Suite
Knowledge of paper stocks and other substrates. Knowledge of variable data workflow
Experience using and updating web-to-print systems
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts or related field
