Position: Recreation Assistant

We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Recreation Assistant to join our dedicated team at Apple Rehab Coccomo. In this role, you will work closely with our Recreation Manager to plan and execute a wide range of engaging activities and events for our residents.

As a Recreation Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall well-being and quality of life of our residents. Your responsibilities will include organizing recreational programs, coordinating outings, and facilitating group activities. You will also be responsible for maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment where residents can socialize and thrive.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Recreation Manager in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational programs and events.
• Coordinate and facilitate group activities, such as games, arts and crafts, exercise classes, and cultural outings.
• Create and distribute calendars and newsletters to inform residents of upcoming activities and events.
• Provide support and assistance to residents during activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
• Document resident participation and feedback to continually improve recreational programs.
• Collaborate with other departments and staff to ensure residents' recreational needs are met.
• Assist in maintaining recreational equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or senior care setting.
• Passion for working with seniors and providing them with engaging recreational opportunities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and collaborate effectively with others.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
