Meijer offers an 11-week internship program that challenges interns to deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business. Throughout the course of the internship experience, we deliver diverse personal and professional development opportunities that further develop skillsets that can be implemented both during and after the program. The internship program includes: Challenging and impactful projects Final presentations delivered to senior executives Executive speaker series Professional development and training opportunities Networking and community events to drive engagement Intern roadshow highlighting key areas of the business What you will be doing as a Compliance Intern : The Meijer Compliance Department’s mission is to listen and partner with our fellow Meijer team members to achieve their business goals using proactive, strategic, and creative solutions. The corporate compliance intern will learn from a variety of practical, real-world corporate compliance experiences including the following: Opportunity to support the tea in one or more of the following compliance areas. Environmental Food Safety Workplace Safety Recall Product Compliance Effectively communicate & project manage in a fast-paced legal environment Develop knowledge in the history & evolution of corporate compliance programs Learn how to design & evaluate a modern corporate compliance program Conduct research and provide recommendations regarding latest government enforcement trends in an emerging legal area – responsible sourcing Conduct risk-based analysis of data Gain executive-level presentation skills and present in an internal meeting Learn the specialized skillset needed to become a compliance professional - including the art of building business relationships and providing strategic advice Qualifications : Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, finance, management, or a related field A very high level of internal integrity Excellentoral and written communication skills Excellent reading and research skills Independentthinker, with strong critical reasoning and problem-solving skills – ability to thrive working in gray areas Self-starter,ableto manageambiguity andpossessingcourage to try new things Capableofbuilding new relationshipsandpossessingemotionalintelligence Comfort in a corporateenvironment,including being amongstsenior businessexecutives Dedicated to exceedingcustomerexpectations A passiontocompete MicrosoftOfficeexperience,with the flexibility and desire to learn additional technologyskills for using varied systems and tools .
