Meaningful Work From Day One:
Responsible for a range of tasks associated with the Visitor Center Services team and directly responsible for selling, scheduling, and coordinating Homeplace tour experiences for groups 10+. This role will be responsible for generating new business at Jack Daniel’s Homeplace by actively selling the experience to Lynchburg. The role will report directly to the Manager - Visitor Services and work closely with multiple positions within the Visitor Experience and Services team.
What You Can Expect:
Group Sales
VIP/HVR Bookings - Will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling all VIP/HVR groups which only require tour experiences.
Will work closely with the Visitor Experience Supervisor and Manager on any special logistics of visits.
Tour Groups:
Represent and sell experience packages to tour operators at travel shows ABA, Travel South, etc.
Create experience packages for groups 10+ including the cross-selling for Miss Mary Bobo’s, premium tours, and BBQ Hill Hospitality when required
Work closely with the Events Supervisor when scheduling/executing group events on BBQ Hill.
Coordinate all tour components including scheduling, payment processing, and communication for tour/bus operators and ensure a smooth experience.
Front Desk
Training new staff members on ticketing system software
Working the end of day reports verifying balances
Collecting balances on all HVR groups daily through Converge software
Maintain inventory (ticket stock, receipt paper, merchandise, bank deposit slips, TWT passports and brochures, wristbands)
Providing assistance to daily operations
Assist Visitor Services manager with orientation of new staff members
What You Bring to the Table:
3-5 years experience in the Hospitality industry with preferred skills working in group sales/visitor service operations
Proven sales experience
High school education or the equivalent.
Must be an accomplished goodwill ambassador with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of providing a positive public relations experience to all visitors.
Proven ability to be flexible and adaptable to quickly changing needs of business.
Must be able to use a computer (Word, Excel, Gmail, SAP, BF Portal, etc.), transact guests with cash, credit card, etc.
Previous experience with online ticketing systems.
Must complete media training within the first 30 days.
Must acquire State ServSafe Permit and be TIPS trained to serve alcohol at events and maintain certification within the first 90 days.
Must be able to stay calm under pressure and give direction during Safety (i.e. weather, medical, etc.) or Security incident.
Must be able to learn in-depth knowledge of the whiskey-making process and of Jack Daniel’s and Lynchburg’s.
Must become familiar with Distillery tours and tour paths to understand business flow.
Must be willing to work outside of scheduled hours to cover a 7-day/week Visitor Center operation if needed; this includes day and evening work plus holidays, weekends, and overtime.
Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
What Makes You Unique:
3+ years of experience in the Distillery Tourism industry
Associates degree
Proficient presentation skills
Medical training such as CPR certification or emergency response.
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual
