POSITION SCOPE: Power & recovery operation supports two paper machines, fiber process with includes batch digesters, chemiwashers and a hot stock refining process generating natural kraft fiber; recausticizing with a slaker and two lime kilns; and recycling of internal chippings through three pulpers and krima dispersers. Power & Recovery consists of one power boiler, two bark boilers, one recovery boiler, influent and effluent water treatment system, non-direct evaporator system, five turbine generators, fire water system, five air compressors, and centralized control room for the entire mill. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Accountable for overall shift performance in accordance to established key performance indicators (KPI’s) to include: safety, environmental compliance, housekeeping, quality and efficiency. Coaches and address performance related issues following progressive discipline for safety, quality, performance, training and attendance. Takes necessary actions to ensure goals are achieved in a team environment by leading or promoting problem solving and development of countermeasures that will prevent future reoccurrence. Administer and implement Labor relations (CBA) through consultation with the Human Resource. Audits on a daily basis to ensure safety, housekeeping, basic care rounds, and other job standards are followed. Supports mill goals in related safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost, productivity and continuous improvement. Provides daily communications to the shift. Manages individual job assignments and training plan with assistance from other department personnel. Responsible for the daily management of the time/attendance system. Prepares and distributes shift reports. Responsible for performance counseling of individuals for unacceptable performance related to safety, quality, productivity, inappropriate behaviors to include disciplinary action if required. Completes all shift accident investigations within 24 hour period. Ensures corrective action is taken to address issues Mentor and coach and help develop technical mastery of operations on fundamentals, skill development, scheduling, etc. Foster employee engagement initiatives. Encourage a behavior-based crew lead safety process. Liaison with other department managers to optimize mill production and alignment of maintenance management system with all improvement initiatives. Ensure the training program for operators is current and appropriate training goals are on target. Promote ISO standards throughout department. Sponsor employee ownership with operators to assure continuity in reaching common production goals. Schedule is 8 hour swing shift. Education/Knowledge Bachelors degree and 1 year experience or 3-4 years supervision experience in lieu of degree Pay Range: $69,540.00 - $92,720.00 Graphic Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
