We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team at Edelman Inc. in Champaign, Illinois. As an essential member of our team, the HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installation, repair, and maintenance of air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems in residential and commercial buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems
- Ensure proper performance and functionality of systems by conducting tests and inspections
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to HVAC systems, including refrigeration leaks, motor malfunctions, and electrical problems
- Prepare estimates and quotes for customers on repairs, replacements, and upgrades for HVAC systems
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding the status of their HVAC systems and needed repairs
- Document work performed including materials used and hours worked for billing and tracking purposes
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure projects are completed on time
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a technical school or training program in HVAC repair or equivalent experience
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Ability to problem-solve and work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
