Monument Health is urgently hiring for the position of Director Behavioral Health at the Monument Health Sturgis Care Center. As the Director Behavioral Health, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Department Goals and Objectives are aligned with Monument Health and Rapid City Hospital's strategic plans. You will deploy resources, develop goals, and ensure employees understand the intent of the Strategic Plan/Operational Plans. Your role will also involve pursuing higher levels of organizational and human performance, ensuring employee well-being, and facilitating successful innovation and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and support system and business practice concepts to achieve higher levels of performance.
• Stay current with core business structures, systems, practices, trends, and technologies within the healthcare industry.
• Promote and implement new ideas that support the healthcare mission.
• Create an environment where employees feel valued, respected, and energized to explore new methods of doing business and taking calculated risks.
• Administer fair and consistent disciplinary action in a timely manner.
• Educate staff, patients, and administration on Magnet Program goals.
• Remain updated on standards of care established by the profession and regulatory bodies.
• Manage and mentor patient care staff, including hiring, development, and evaluation processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Registered Nurse (RN) certification by the South Dakota Board of Nursing
• Preferred: 1+ years of Psychiatric Services Experience; 5+ years of Acute Experience
• Preferred: Master's degree in Nursing
• Preferred: Licensed Professional Counselor certification by the South Dakota Department of Social Services

Physical Requirements:

• Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
