Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at the Southeastern Veterans' Center. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals to our valued residents. As the Food Service Supervisor, you will oversee all aspects of food preparation, production, and service, while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of talented food service professionals, providing clear guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate and supervise daily food service activities, including menu planning, purchasing, and inventory management.
- Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented in accordance with established standards, recipes, and dietary requirements.
- Monitor food preparation methods to ensure consistently excellent quality and taste.
- Collaborate with the Nutrition Services Manager to develop and update nutritious and appetizing menus that meet the unique dietary needs of our residents.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Train and mentor staff on proper food handling, safety procedures, and customer service skills.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to food production, inventory, and budgetary matters.
- Foster a positive and respectful work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional growth among staff.
- Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints promptly and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a food service environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Possess a ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification, or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days of employment.
