Position: Locate Technician

As a Locate Technician at Parkersburg Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our network installations. You will be responsible for accurately marking and locating underground utilities, such as gas, electric, and telecommunication lines, to prevent damage during construction or excavation works.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Using specialized equipment to locate and mark underground utilities in accordance with industry standards and guidelines.
• Communicating with construction crews and contractors to provide accurate information regarding the location of utilities.
• Documenting the location and condition of utilities using electronic systems.
• Assisting with the maintenance and calibration of locating equipment.
• Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal safety and prevent damage to utilities.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a Locate Technician or similar role is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and maps.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
