The Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis is looking for a full-time Delivery Van Driver for our 53-acre campus. As a Delivery Van Driver, you will provide transportation to residents, deliver/transport packages and parcels between homes, buildings, and vendors. Keep vehicles and machinery in operational order * NOTE: The work hours for this position rotate between the shifts below, Monday - Friday. * 5:45 am - 2:15 pm 7:00 am - 3:30 pm 10:00 am - 6:30 pm Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Transporting residents and medical equipment in a safe and timely manner Familiarity with the facility’s safe work practices and infection prevention programs Inspections of vehicles and conducting minor repairs Transport packages, furniture, medication, biohazards, and deliverables in a timely manner Enhance and support the safety and security of residents, staff, and visitor (i.e. special events, emergencies, searches) Perform minor building/ground maintenance such as pick up litter and maintain garbage receptables Tracking work orders in electronic system The Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis provides skilled nursing care in a supportive environment that fosters a stable, healthy, and meaningful life for Veterans. A valid Minnesota Class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or higher with passenger endorsement Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions Must be able to obtain a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification /First Aid certification within six (6) months of hire Preferred Qualifications Experience working with vulnerable adults Additional Requirements A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check. Finalists may be required to pass a job-related pre-employment physical assessment. A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment. Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s). Finalists will be subject to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident and return-to-duty drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation regulations.
