Are you passionate about teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ? The Orem area is seeking full and part-time Seminary and Institute Teachers who have a genuine love for youth and young adults from diverse backgrounds. Ideal candidates will demonstrate high character and the ability to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ in a Christ-centered, learner-focused, and scripturally based manner. We are seeking dedicated individuals who are effective administrators and can collaborate well with parents and priesthood leaders in supporting the rising generation.

This application is the initial step for individuals interested in employment with Seminaries and Institutes. The application process includes:

  • Completing the REL 471 Teaching Seminary Workshop. Registration is available at myinstitute.churchofjesuschrist.org. For registration assistance, contact [email protected]. The workshop involves participating in and being evaluated in a peer-to-peer teaching experience.
  • Participating in a brief (3-4 days) teaching practicum in a local seminary.
  • Student Teaching - Student teachers are selected from successful practicum participants and are hired to teach one or two seminary classes in a local seminary. Student teachers are paid for teaching time, preparation, and administrative time. Full-time employment decisions are made by the administration of Seminaries and Institutes in Salt Lake City, while part-time employment decisions are made by local S&I administrators and depend on current demand.
