POSITION: JUNIOR PLANNER/GRANTS SPECIALIST

LOCATION: MUNICIPALITY OF NORRISTOWN - PLANNING DEPT.

HOURLY WAGE: $23.69 BASE PER HOUR

HOURS: 8:30 A.M. TO 4:30 P.M., MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

EMPLOYMENT: NON-EXEMPT/FULL-TIME

DEADLINE: Until Position is Filled

MINIMUM Qualifications: The Junior Planner/Grant Specialist shall have a bachelor's degree in urban planning, community development or other closely related field. Master's degree preferred. At least one year of relevant work experience, understanding of technical best practices for urban planning and zoning, and familiarity with grant-funded projects and federal state, and local compliance. Applicants must be able to work in-person, possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license, and successfully complete a background check.

GENERAL DEFINITION: An entry-level position reporting directly to the head of the department. The position requires involvement in the implementation and management of projects receiving grant funding through the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, and other community development projects which relate to the revitalization of Norristown. The position also involves a range of duties and responsibilities related to housing rehabilitation, economic development, historic preservation, and infrastructure restoration.
