Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, permanent, classified, Library & Archives Paraprofessional 2 - Access Services Technician, who will report to the Access Services Manager. The position promotes student success by providing high-quality, flexible, accessible resources and services and Social Equity by helping create an accessible and inclusive environment in the library. Primary responsibilities include staffing service desk, leading our course reserves program, assisting with our equipment program, assisting with the Resource Sharing program (interlibrary loan and Summit), and leading student employee work. Additionally, the position supports the College's social equity mission by participating in weekly discussions on topics of power, privilege, and inequity. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide service desk coverage with courteous and timely customer service. Guide patrons in finding and using resources. Perform circulation functions in ExLibris or other library systems including managing holds, creating and updating patron and item records, and preparing regular statistical reports. Lead our equipment program by tracking and processing circulating equipment. Assist with our course reserves program by creating item records, processing materials, and working with staff and faculty. Process resource sharing requests such as consortial or interlibrary loan lending and borrowing. Work cooperatively in a variety of department-level activities, contribute to college-wide projects, represent the college and collaborate with library consortia, task forces, and committees -- locally, statewide, and regionally. Create a safe, bias-free working environment that engenders respect for differences. Assist with library social media posts. Select and arrange materials for physical and virtual displays that create a welcoming and inclusive space. Respond to difficult, stressful, or sensitive interpersonal situations in ways that reduce or minimize potential conflict and maintain good working relationships among internal and external customers. Help develop policies and procedures by providing input for areas of responsibility. Lead, train, and direct the work of student employees. Perform other related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor or unit Dean.  POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES: Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:  High school graduation or equivalent  AND  one (1) year of experience in the functional operations of a library. Equivalent experience will be considered.
