Description
We are in search of an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in MARSHALL, Michigan. This role is within the Healthcare/NHS industry and offers a long term contract employment opportunity. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, your main responsibility will be to manage the collection and follow-up of self-pay accounts.
Responsibilities
• Make collection calls on accounts as per established procedure, tactfully negotiating with patients over amounts owed.
• Process and assist patients in arranging a payment method that aligns with our procedures.
• Aid patients in qualifying for our financial assistance program, understanding and analyzing large volumes of numerical and financial data in the process.
• Maintain a clear, concise, and complete history on each account as per the procedure.
• Determine patient insurance status, and input the information into the system, ensuring the bill is sent to the appropriate payer.
• Respond to patients' requests for information in a timely manner and in accordance with our established procedure.
• Handle a high volume of incoming calls, providing assistance to patients as needed.
• Assist patients with queries regarding insurance coverage and balances due.
Requirements
• Proven experience in Collection Processes and Collection Operations
• Demonstrable knowledge and skills in Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Excellent Customer Service abilities
• Background in the Health Care industry, preferably within the NHS
• Proficiency in handling Inbound and Outbound Calls
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet deadlines
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
• Compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
