Job Title: Patient Access Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Patient Access Assistant at Long Prairie Clinic. In this role, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients throughout the registration and check-in process. You will ensure accurate and efficient patient information collection, insurance verification, and scheduling of appointments.

Responsibilities

As a Patient Access Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming and assisting patients in a friendly and professional manner.
• Collecting and verifying patient demographic and insurance information.
• Scheduling and coordinating appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits.
• Ensuring accuracy and completeness of all patient registration forms.
• Working closely with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Answering telephone inquiries and providing accurate information to patients and visitors.
• Handling patient inquiries, complaints, and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Assisting with insurance verification and pre-authorization of services.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of electronic medical record systems.
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism when faced with difficult situations.
