Job Summary

The U.S.-Canada Center on Climate-Resilient Western Interconnected Grid at the University of Utah has an immediate opening for a Manager, Marketing, Community Engagement and Events position to work with the center director, faculty, collaborators, and stakeholders to develop and implement policies, programs, and financial objectives for the center in relation to marketing, community engagement and event organization. The preferred applicant will have excellent written and verbal communication abilities, be self-motivated, professional, and have a service-minded mentality to help bring the center’s vision and mission forward.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate procedural matters to ensure the successful and timely operation of multiple research, development and educational projects related to the U.S.-Canada Center on Climate-Resilient Western Interconnected Grid.
  • Design and develop research and outreach marketing materials, including writing articles, news and develop and maintain websites and social media.
  • Take meeting minutes and action items during meetings and performs basic follow-up with project participants and monitor their timely progress on actions.
  • Prepare presentations and frequent (e.g., quarterly, annually) project reports and performs evaluation of project effectiveness.
  • Organize seminars, workshops, luncheons and other meetings and leading associated communication, and making travel arrangements.
  • Maintain and oversee the maintenance of project data and documents, meetings minutes, recordings, lists, or files.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, research materials, and outreach publications.
  • Acts as liaison between the projects and internal or external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business or public administration, a related area, or equivalency required; plus six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required. Master’s degree in business or public administration, marketing, communication, Arts or related area preferred.
