To be eligible for appointment under NY HELPS, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications below:Minimum Qualifications NYHELPS: One year of clerical experience.Competitive Minimum Qualifications:Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC.orReinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.orTransfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 7 or higher and: Eligible for transfer under Section 70.1: Permanent competitive service as an Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 (Calculations), Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), Office Assistant 2 (Stores/Mail), Secretary 1. Also any language parenthetic for the above titles. Additional titles which qualify can be found on the Department of Civil Service website, search "GOT-IT". Duties Description The incumbent in this position will perform the following duties:1. Provide administrative support as needed, operate office equipment, answer telephones, and greet and assist customers.2. Process invoices, reconcile credit cards, manage ledgers, and process bills for the office. 3. Process correspondence for office staff, along with compile and edit reports, which include campground reports and vehicle reports4. Enter documents and data into databases.5. Perform orientation for seasonal staff, including campground staff.
