Activities Director - Skilled Nursing Facility

Job Overview:

The Activities Director position at Pleasanton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is an opportunity to join a highly regarded healthcare facility dedicated to providing quality patient care. We are seeking a compassionate and qualified professional to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of our Activity Department, in line with federal, state, and local regulations and our established policies and procedures. The Activities Director will ensure that a comprehensive program of activities is designed to meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.

Essential Duties:

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of the facility
• Assist in the development, administering, and coordinating of department policies and procedures
• Stay updated on current federal and state regulations and professional standards to recommend changes to policies and procedures
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for identifying medically related activity needs of residents
• Participate in community planning related to facility interests and resident needs
• Contribute to discharge planning, activity care plans, and resident assessments
• Complete administrative requirements such as forms and reports

Qualifications:

• Must have proof of COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster (if eligible)
• Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist, qualified occupational therapist, or eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or activities professional
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years, with one (1) year full-time in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting preferred
• College degree or minimum two (2) years of college preferred
• Ability to make independent decisions and knowledgeable of regulations governing activity services in nursing care facilities
• Ability to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday
