Activities Director - Skilled Nursing Facility

English Oaks Convalescent & Rehabilitation Hospital is currently seeking an experienced Activities Director to join our team. As an Activities Director, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and facilitating various engaging and therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of our residents.

• Coordinate and oversee a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities, including games, crafts, music, exercise programs, and outings.

• Conduct assessments to identify individual resident preferences and abilities, and tailor activities accordingly.

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to contribute to the development of care plans and monitor resident progress.

• Provide supervision and support to activity staff, ensuring adherence to regulations and best practices.

• Maintain activity-related documentation, including attendance records, progress notes, and assessments.

• Promote a positive and inclusive environment where residents can actively participate in a variety of activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in recreation therapy, therapeutic recreation, or a related field (preferred).

• Valid Activity Director Certification or eligible to obtain certification within six months of hire.

• Minimum of two years of experience in an activities leadership role in a healthcare setting.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of federal and state regulations relating to activities in a skilled nursing facility.

• Ability to develop and implement engaging and therapeutic activity programs.

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
