Water Rights Network Manager

Job Title:  Engineering Manager I Job Description: This is a senior-level position in the Data Services Section of the Utah Division of Water Rights. Working with the Assistant State Engineer,the Engineering Manager is responsible for administering a statewide water rights-related program. Using a broad base of water-related experience,the incumbent performs program operation tasks and coordinates the work of other employees. The incumbent serves as a chief advisor to the State Engineer and/or the Assistant State Engineer in matters related to their program. The incumbent assists in the development and implementation of program policies including helping in the preparation and presentation of internal training. The Engineering Manager directly manages between five and eight engineers and other staff. Principal Duties: Help develop and implement internal policies and procedures.  Develop and implement training events and material in consultation with section and division management.  Attend presentations and make public presentations.  Compose written reports and prepare calculations.  Conduct performance evaluations,review time cards,and lead recruitment efforts. Evaluate statewide water right uses and prepare depletion reports. Ideal Candidate: Experience leading a team.  Ability to research complex problems and find creative solutions A working knowledge of Utah water rights and hydrology.  A Utah Professional Engineering License.
